About this ebook

In this seminal work of political philosophy, Walter Lippmann grapples with the challenges facing democracy in the early 20th century. He argues that the battle for the future lies not against the forces of authority, but against the weaknesses and chaos of a new freedom. Lippmann calls for a vision of hope woven from the promise of actual things, one that can guide us through the unfolding present and bend the future nearer to our hopes.
