About this ebook
The bag was supposed to burn. Inez “Nez” Santillán knows how records disappear. As a former Army records specialist now working nights in a county archive, she understands the language of disposal, retention, and closed files. Most nights, the job is simple: scan the boxes, follow the codes, keep moving. Then she finds a sealed burn bag that should not exist. Pregnant, exhausted, and suddenly visible to the same people who built their power on careful silence, Nez has one brutal choice: hand the past back to the county that buried it, or move the truth before it burns. Raw, tense, and emotionally charged, The Burn Bag is a gripping story of family, corruption, memory, and the dangerous cost of refusing the official version.
