Neither expected this battle.

All her life, Emily has had one dream—to leave her father’s home and live on her own terms. Her father has other plans. I own the original version from 2016 And it’s still a grand adventure filled with suspenseful twists and turns and high-heat romance! She’s feisty and determined. He’s all doom and gloom. Both are about to meet their match. Well written with wonderful characters that will steal your heart Packed with humor Banter A stubborn ward - loved Emily’s persistence. A broody Lord A bit of mystery - loved the twist. Some suspense (light) The sweetest capitulation And naturally, an HEA

THE FORSAKEN is the first instalment in Sherrilyn Kenyon’s (Kinley MacGregor) adult, medieval, romance series. This is Draven de Montague, Earl of Ravenswood, and Emily’s story line.THE FORSAKEN is the re-release of the same title story originally written by Sherrilyn as Kinley MacGregor. THE FORSAKEN is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is intriguing and captivating

This is a spicy, open door, third person, dual POV, historical romance with tropes including medieval romance, determined heroine, reluctant hero, political intrigue, cursed warrior afraid to love, traumatic childhood, grumpy/sunshine, and a hero with a guarded heart. This story was very typical of this genre at the time of its’ publication. While a decent historical romance, this does not comopare to the author’s work in romantasy/sci-fi romance. Best for lovers of medieval “bodice rippers.”
