This is a short thriller. Ace has a chance to run his grandfather's bookstore. He will get everything if he runs it for five years. What he doesn't know is that it is a ghost town. Only a few people, but when the dust storm blows they hide. Will he stay or run?. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love how Alexander dives right into the story from the very first paragraph. One finds oneself drawn to the main character, Ace, as he struggles to find meaning and purpose in his life. Inheriting an old bookstore from his grandfather gives him the change he needed, but with it comes something sinister and mysterious in the form of the unexplained dust storms. I like how Alexander used something negative - fear, panic, uncertainty - to bring out the best in Ace and reveal to himself his true value, strength and character. Not your run-of-the-mill horror story, this one is about light and hope, as much as it is about darkness. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
