Dumb and Famous

A Gumbo Malone Florida Mystery

A viral moment can make you famous.

Or get you killed.

Private investigator Gumbo Malone thought he was signing up for a simple security job on a film set in the Ocala National Forest. A streaming thriller series is shooting deep in Florida wilderness, and one of the lead actresses believes she’s being stalked.

The producer just wants someone around to keep things calm.

But Gumbo quickly realizes something isn’t right.

Strange incidents keep happening around the production—mysterious videos, unexplained sightings in the tree line, and social media posts that appear online seconds before anyone can stop them.

Someone isn’t just stalking the actress.

Someone is filming the whole thing.

The deeper Gumbo digs into the crew roster, the stranger the story becomes. One name keeps surfacing: Kaylee Voss, a young production runner with a growing social media following and a carefully curated online persona.

She didn’t stumble onto this film set.

She built her way onto it.

For months.

Maybe years.

Because in the age of TikTok and viral fame, attention is currency—and Kaylee has a plan to create the perfect viral moment.

One that will make her impossible to ignore.

Now Gumbo has four days to stop whatever she’s building before a remote overnight shoot deep in the Florida forest turns into something far more dangerous than a movie scene.

Because when fame, obsession, and social media collide…

Someone always ends up bleeding.
