THE SOUND BENEATH THE STORM
About this ebook
During a violent midnight storm, Detective Elias Mercer arrives at a gruesome murder scene unlike anything the city has ever seen. The victim’s lungs are filled with water — yet she never drowned. As another storm approaches, more bodies begin appearing across the city, each death connected by impossible acoustic patterns hidden beneath the sound of rain.
As panic spreads and the media creates the legend of “The Rain Killer,” Mercer is pulled into a terrifying investigation involving buried flood tunnels, corrupted city officials, missing disaster records, and a haunting frequency hidden inside storm recordings. Alongside journalist Mara Vale and forensic audio analyst Noah Pike, Mercer uncovers a secret buried beneath the city for twelve years — a disaster covered up by the very people sworn to protect the public.
But the deeper Mercer descends into the underground labyrinth beneath the streets, the more personal the case becomes.
