Goblin Slayer (GS) the series isn't worth the effort. Read the first volume. It is very good as it has ominous dark start that flows into a great last battle. However everything good in the first book is basically dumped on floor and forgotten in every subsequent volume. Author tries a MacGyver-esque hero loop that just gets more and more contrived with such ludicrous solutions that becomes more and more unbelieveable. Here's another weird issue with the series goblins are too lazy to work, so they kill all the male slaves and only rape the female ones who are never allowed to wear clothes so the goblins end up having to do all the manual labor themselves. Are they lazy or not? There are so many other issues like towns with no guards. Soldiers who supposedly exist but never, ever show up anywhere. This isn't dark or edgy it's just stupid.

It's a good story, I like how mature it feels but man is it freaking annoying that the author chose not to give people names. Like everyone is called by a title or a class name.... priestess, warrior, dwarf, elf, goblin Slayer (why was it required to spell out goblin Slayer in full every dam time, call him Slayer or something...) Etc. It makes getting to know characters harder...ohh cow girl or guild girl...like wth? That's not how u tell a good story.

Why not five stars? Simply, no character names. I know, that's actually part of the story process but I would like to see names eventually. The main reason, because I feel like the character development is too good for the characters to not be named. The story flows well and the narrative is engaging. It was difficult at time to tell who was saying what.
