The ocean was never silent.
It hummed with tiny bubbles, whispered through dancing seaweed, and sang softly as waves rolled far above. Sunlight slipped through the water like golden ribbons, painting everything in warm, wiggling light. Down below, where coral castles stretched wide and colorful, lived a little octopus named Edie.
Edie was not like the others.
While most octopuses liked to hide quietly between rocks, blending perfectly into their surroundings, Edie loved colors too much to disappear. Her skin shimmered with bright pinks, cheerful yellows, and soft purples that changed with her mood. When she was happy, she glowed like a rainbow. When she was curious, tiny sparkles danced across her skin.
And oh, she was always curious.
