About this ebook

The Butterfly (Standalone sequel to The Villain Duology)

A Regency Erotic Romance filled with passion, forbidden love, and emotional depth…

Propriety Forbade Them

From the first moment stable groom Niall Gibbs glimpses Lady Olivia Goodall, he's hopelessly captivated. Even as children, Olivia's delicate beauty draws him in, igniting a dangerous desire he knows he must resist. Bound by strict social hierarchy, their love is forbidden—yet impossible to deny. As they grow older, their secret bond deepens, defying every rule for stolen moments of passion, even knowing their romance can never be publicly acknowledged.

Tragedy Ruined Them

When Olivia departs for London and her first Season, Niall accepts their impossible love is over. But a year later, Olivia returns home shattered—a ruined woman clutching a newborn babe, her spirit fractured by cruelty and trauma. After enduring a brutal assault and confinement in an asylum for unwed mothers, Olivia struggles with darkness, shame, and anguish. Niall vows to do anything to rescue the woman he loves, even if it means sharing in her darkness.

Love Will Save Them

As Olivia battles her past, hope sparks anew for their seemingly doomed love. Yet Niall remains haunted by the gap between their worlds, and Olivia still confronts the demons that threaten to consume her. Can love truly heal all wounds, or will the ghosts of their past forever deny them the happiness they've fought so fiercely to claim?

Warning: The Butterfly explores intense themes and contains explicit scenes intended only for mature readers seeking deeply emotional, passionate storytelling. Approach with care.

Since Niall was old enough to start mucking out stalls at Dunvar House he'd had one fact drilled into him. What went on inside Dunvar House was none of his business. The occupants were his betters not his equals. He'd been born for once purpose and that was to serve the master's household by caring for their horses like his dad and his grandfather had done. He was not to interact with the Callahan's while he served on the lowest rung of the servant hierarchy. It was at the age of ten, his first trip into Dunvar House with his father when he saw her. Lady Olivia. She was six, looked like she was four, and carried herself like she was a grand lady. The moment she smiled at him he knew he wanted to what ever it took to protect her, even if he didn't understand the feeling. Then, once again, his father reminded him that 'Fine things weren't to be touched by the likes of him.' Olivia was the master's step-daughter, his best friend's sister. To her, he and her brother Hart were her two knights in shining armor. Protectors to her Princess. The one being he loved above all else. She was his everything. Let me take a breath and compose myself. This. This right here is a journey no one on God's green earth should ever have to make. No one should be forced to endure and yet Victoria Vale has told the tale with all the heart wrenching emotion and bright eyed hope than I've ever read. This is a journey that will change your life. A moment in time that will make you realize what true love and courage are. This, is what we strive to believe in and achieve. The world is your oyster Ms. Vale but I'm limited to 5 stars, which you've more than achieved. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and ma voluntarily leaving a review.

I started this series with Adam and Daphne now it did involve Olivia but not in the same as this book does. In this one, you will learn all the dark and horrible details of what happened to her. You will see a group of people who will join together to destroy a terrible evil and finally you see that Niall and Olivia may perhaps have a future. Just like Villain book 1 and 2, this is dark and so good. This has been one of the best series I have ever read and this addition to it was spectacular. I cannot wait for the next book I already have it on pre-order. I highly recommend this dark, chilling and mind-blowing book!

From the moment Niall Gibbs lays eyes on Lady Olivia Goodall he is entranced. Even as a young stable boy her fragile beauty calls to something deep inside him, making it difficult to stay away from her. Yet, as they grow to adulthood, Olivia and Niall’s visceral connection becomes undeniable. The two skirt danger and shun propriety for any stolen moments they can find, even knowing their love can ever be. When Olivia goes off to London for her first Season, Niall doesn’t think to ever see her again. However, she returns a year later, ruined with a newborn babe in her arms, and a mind riddled by torment. Following a brutal rape and months spent languishing in an unwed mothers’ asylum, she finds herself plunged into an existence of pain, darkness, and regret. As Olivia tries to fight her way back, it seems as if they might stand a chance after all. We first met Niall & Olivia in the Villain & The Dove & I'm thrilled they had their story & boy what a story it was! Enthralling, engrossing, heart wrenching & totally captivating. I could wax lyrical about this brilliant book but suffice to say read it & I'm sure you'll be as captivated as I was. My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
