About this ebook

This epic fantasy debut plunges readers into a gritty world of court intrigue and dinosaur battles: "a cross between Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones" (George R. R. Martin).
Paradise is a sprawling, diverse, often brutal place—one formed by the Eight Creators to play out their games of passion and power. In Paradise, lords and ladies vie for power as dinosaurs range the land and take the skies. And while some of these fearsome creatures run wild, others are harnessed as weapons of war.
Thus we are plunged into Victor Milán's world of The Dinosaur Lords, a place of dynastic rivalries, religious wars, and byzantine politics, and clashing armies of dinosaur-mounted knights. During the course of one of these epic battles, the mercenary Dinosaur Lord Karyl Bogomirsky is defeated through betrayal and left for dead. He wakes, naked, wounded, partially amnesiac—and hunted. And embarks upon a journey that will shake his world.

I went into this book with good expectations. I was hoping for a good book that legitimately revolved around knights riding into battle on dinosaurs. Instead I got some romance plot between two cousins and a plot where a guy goes looking for some other legendary guy everyone thinks is dead. And the dinosaurs are more like an add on. The book could have dinosaurs removed completely and it would basically still be the same story. Some parts were good, but most seemed like I was pushing myself to get through.

A great story line with nice big twists and the dinosaur are much larger part then it may seem, by far my favorite series ever it's on a smaller scale then game of thrones and is easier to follow and just more enjoyable

The first in a series. This book takes its time developing the characters to lay a very solid foundation for the rest of the series. This book does not have the epic battles that the 2nd and 3rd books in the series provide. I honestly would give this book 4 stars if I hadn't invested in the characters so much in the 2nd and 3rd novels.
