About this ebook

Judith Whitman always believed in the kind of love that "picks you up in Akron and sets you down in Rio." Long ago, she once experienced that love. Willy Blunt was a carpenter with a dry wit and a steadfast sense of honor. Marrying him seemed like a natural thing to promise. But Willy Blunt was not a person you could pick up in Nebraska and transport to Stanford. When Judith left home, she didn't look back.
Twenty years later, Judith's marriage is hazy with secrets. In her hand is what may be the phone number for the man who believed she meant it when she said she loved him. If she called, what would he say?
To Be Sung Underwater is the epic love story of a woman trying to remember, and the man who could not even begin to forget.

When Janet was in high school she was deeply in love with Willy Blunt, a carpenter. She felt Willy stood out by being so confident of things. He asks her to marry him and she accepts but tells him that it would have to wait until she finished college. Once she left small town life in Nebraska and arrived at Stamford, Janet developed a different point of view. Now the material world took more meaning. She meets and starts dating Malcolm Whitman, who was a wealthy banker. She felt that he would be able to provide a comfortable living for her and she married him. A quarter of a century later, she is a successful business woman in California. However, she doesn't feel that her marriage is going anywhere. She remembered her younger days with Willy and the excitement he brought into her life and she wants that spark back. The story moves from Janet as a teenager to Janet today. It is well done and interesting to see the differences in her point of view. She makes the reader become interested in her and want her to have her second chance. Janet is a well described character and will be remembered by readers long after the novel is finished.
