The Rancher's Reckoning

I enjoyed this new father and son story in the latest "Texas Cattleman’s Club" series. It is a fairly short and quick read about Colt, Sierra and little baby Micah. She is a reporter who is determined to find Micah's family. She has her reasons and her secrets. She finally has gotten Colt's attention and he comes to claim his son. In order to make the transition better they all move in together. I like how the story develops from beginning to end. Such a good read!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Baby Micah brings Colt and Sierra together. Sierra is a reporter looking for Micah's father and finds him. Colt didn't know he was a father but steps up. Despite fighting their attraction, they end up falling in love prompting Colt to have a family in Royal, Texas with a wife and son.

Sierra really had to dig deep to find the connection to Colt and orphaned Micah’s deceased mother Arielle especially since she didn’t list him on the birth certificate nor write about him in her diary. But as soon as he saw Micah Colt knew he was a father. Still he has no experience with babies and Micah doesn’t know him, so he enlists Sierra’s temporary help. Despite the way she connected them, I would have thought Colt would be more suspicious of her. He knew she was a reporter investigating to write a book yet he’s surprised when she admits to searching his property. Sierra seems insecure because she can’t have children and I think part of that caused her to push Colt away and not just that he was moving to France.
