The Fiction Formula
Meer oor hierdie e-boek
Sean Platt and Johnny B. Truant have written more than a hundred fiction books between them at Sterling & Stone, the indie publishing operation they built from scratch. They didn't get there on instinct. They got there with a formula, refined over a decade of writing, publishing, and watching what actually works.
The Fiction Formula is the fiction-specific companion to Write. Publish. Repeat. It's focused on the work itself, built around the systems that let two authors write a hundred-plus fiction books without burning out or running out of ideas.
Inside, you'll learn how to:
Pick a genre you can sustain. Commercially viable AND creatively fulfilling.
Use the Sterling & Stone planning process to write better books, faster.
Move from idea to launched series without losing the thread.
Build a fiction business that survives marketplace shifts and platform pivots.
Avoid the traps that kill most fiction careers before they take off.
Sustain the work across dozens of titles, not just the first one.
Pair with Write. Publish. Repeat. for the foundation, Iterate and Optimize for the business systems that scale it, and The Compounding Author for the mindset that carries you through the years between.
Includes a free companion workbook with 11 exercises, plus Genre Therapy, the Series Bible, the Beats Brief, the Pre-Launch Checklist, the Launch Day Schedule, and a 90-Day Backlist Refresh tracker.
Stop writing on instinct. Start writing to a formula. The Fiction Formula.
Meer oor die skrywer
Sean Platt has always been an entrepreneur, but stories were the business he was born to build.
When his wife bought him a laptop for his birthday in 2007, he dropped everything to write fiction.
After a short stint as creative director at a marketing agency — where he learned the kind of copywriting that could turn cliffhangers into an art — Sean wrote hundreds of novels (including international bestsellers), penned Hollywood scripts, and founded Sterling & Stone, an IP incubator where more than two dozen writers turn wild ideas into world-changing stories.
Originally from Long Beach, California, Sean now lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Cindy, and their dog, Fisher — both of whom remind him that real life makes the best stories.
Johnny B. Truant is the bestselling author of Fat Vampire, adapted by SyFy as "Reginald the Vampire" starring Spider-Man's Jacob Batalon. His other books include Pretty Killer, Pattern Black, Invasion, The Beam, Dead City, and over 100 other titles across many genres.
Originally from Ohio, Johnny and his family now live in Austin, Texas, where he’s finally surrounded by creative types as weird as he is. His website at JohnnyBTruant.com features his Creator Diary, additional works, fan extras, behind-the-scenes peeks, early access, and a whole lot more.
