About this eBook

The AI Language Lab is a detailed, practical guide to Daily AI Conversation Practice for Language Learners for readers who want a clear path from understanding the topic to using it confidently in real situations. The book is designed as a structured learning companion rather than a shallow overview: it introduces the core ideas, explains why they matter, then develops them through realistic examples, guided practice, scenario-based explanations, and common mistakes to avoid. Readers are taken step by step from foundational concepts into everyday applications, with each chapter building on the previous one so the material feels progressive, usable, and easy to revisit. The main areas of focus include Find Your Starting Line, Build Your AI Speaking Studio, The Daily Conversation Loop, Prompts That Unlock Real Conversation, Your First Five Conversations, From Stiff Scripts to Loose Small Talk, Speak for Two Minutes Without Notes, Fix Your Pronunciation Without a Tutor, Turn Every Mistake into a Lesson, Mine Your Transcripts Like a Pro, giving the book a concrete learning arc that moves from orientation and confidence-building to applied communication, problem solving, and independent practice. The writing style is direct, supportive, and accessible, making the book suitable for self-study, classroom reinforcement, professional development, or personal improvement. It emphasizes practical understanding over abstract theory, so readers can immediately connect the lessons to conversations, decisions, habits, and challenges they are likely to face outside the page. By the end of the book, readers should have not only a stronger grasp of the subject, but also a collection of repeatable strategies, useful language patterns, mental models, and practical routines they can continue applying after they finish reading.

About the author

Cheri Buford is an educator, writer, and lifelong language learner who has spent over a decade helping adult learners find practical paths to fluency. Her teaching philosophy rests on a simple observation: most people don't fail at language because they lack talent, but because they never get enough real conversation practice in a safe, judgment-free space. That insight led her to experiment with the earliest conversational AI tools, and eventually to develop the daily practice method at the heart of The AI Language Lab.

Beyond writing and teaching, Cheri has studied more languages than she cares to admit, including Spanish and French, with a long-term love affair with Japanese. She is a firm believer that any learner with fifteen minutes a day can become a confident speaker — if they have the right partner and the right routine. In her own practice, she still opens a conversation with an AI every morning before breakfast, and credits that habit with maintaining her fluency across years of busy stretches.

Cheri writes at the intersection of education and technology, showing everyday learners how to use new tools without losing the human heart of communication. She lives in the United States, where she is usually reading three books at once, testing a new language app, or asking a patient AI to correct her pronunciation for the fourth time.
