The Reasons Why

They say that every small town has its own heartbeat, spirit and charm. That no matter where you go in the world, nothing is better than returning to the place you come from. For Cade Isley, however, his homecoming is bittersweet. Returning to Primrose after a decade serving communities in other provinces as an RCMP Officer, Cade is haunted by the memory of a beautiful girl with golden blonde hair and stunning aquamarine eyes. A girl he loved passionately and whose heart he inadvertently shattered, leaving him with unresolved guilt and unanswered questions.

Genevieve Breaux had made a good life for herself. She had a rewarding job as a nurse, a house she loved in a quiet neighborhood in St. Augustine and had come to accept the loneliness of her solitary existence. With no family, few friends and self-imposed anonymity she guarded, she tries to move on from the ghosts of the past, but despite all attempts to find someone to share her life with, her heart still belongs to the boy who captured it.

When their paths cross again after a decade, Genny is faced with lingering animosity, unanswered questions of her own and is suddenly faced with the possibility of a world without Cade. Leaving her to decide if their love can be rekindled or will his broken promises and her heart-wrenching choices keep them apart?

The Reasons Why is a heartfelt love story that celebrates the power of choice, forgiveness and embraces the beauty of second chances.

“Emotional, angsty, second-chance romance set in a nostalgic small town with unresolved past trauma and high emotional tension.” - Sarah Williams, Bestselling author of Songbird.
