About this ebook

From the author of the City Love trilogy comes an empowering young-adult romance that encourages everyone to find courage in the face of adversity.

“Noelle's journey from victim to victor . . . is an important story for anyone who has felt the sting of their peers' cruelty.”—VOYA

“Emotionally satisfying from beginning to end.”—Kirkus Reviews

Noelle's life is all about survival. Even her best friend doesn't know how much she gets bullied, or the ways her mom neglects her. Noelle's kept so much about her life a secret for so long that when her longtime crush Julian Porter starts paying attention to her, she’s terrified. Surely it’s safer to stay hidden than to risk the pain of a broken heart. But when the antagonism of her classmates takes a dramatic turn, Noelle realizes it’s time to stand up for herself—and for the love that keeps her holding on.

I loved how it teaches that bullying someone really hurts inside.I personally had to experience bullying. i wanted to cut or kill myself. Then my mom took me out of that school. I found my real friends that care about me. Then i found this book. It was amazing.

I finished it on a day it was so good. Standing up to bullying is what had my attention. I understand the depression that comes with bullying and feeling like there's no way out. It's hard to be a loner.
