About this ebook

I’ve been promised to an Orc Guardian.

He’s coming for me soon and I will have no choice—I’ll have to leave the realm of humans and marry the huge, fearsome beast known as Gregor the Slayer.

Orc Guardians are said to be cruel and unfeeling. I struggle to accept my lot in life, and I won’t lie—I’m tempted to run and hide. But deep down, I know I wouldn’t get far, and the last thing I wish to do is bring down an orc’s vengeance upon my village… or upon myself.

I soon learn that while Gregor has a fierce, vengeful side, when it comes to me, he can be gentle and… sweet. He’s also intensely protective and possessive of me.

But we come from different realms, and his world is so very different from my own.

Will I survive marriage to a big, growly orc?

3 1/2 stars. Oh I do love a good Orc story! These two were brought together by a kind act long ago. The H was kind and showed her through his actions that all was not as she was led to believe all her life. The h had no idea of what was set in motion until it was revealed on a deathbed confession, who knew it would be him, her hero, that came to collect his prize. It was short but pretty good. I recommend it for an afternoon read.

I have to say that I was skeptical about this book but since I usually enjoy her books I decided to give it a try. I was so not disappointed. It was surprisingly good. The characters and the storyline were well developed. I just wanted to see Gregor made good on his promise about her landlord. Great read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Good start to a new series. There’s a tenuous treaty between the Fae, the Orcs and the humans. But Catrin, a human, is desperate and trespasses into the Fae realm. Gregor, an Orc, was patrolling the area and prevented her from stealing from the Fae, a dangerous undertaking. But it’s too late for Catrin’s father and with his last words he condemns her to life with a monster. He promised her to an Orc. Gregor is eager to meet his promised human mate even though Catrin keeps coming into his mind. There is distrust between the races and fear between the couple but maybe they can find an HEA. Good start to a series. This is a standalone and since we were introduced to Gregor’s cousins, I expect we’ll see them in the next books.
