About the author
Steven Smith is the founder and CEO of Innovation-N-Ideas, established on December 2016. He created the company with the intention of helping other inventors gain success from their product development inventions.
In 1991, when he created his first product concept, he had very little knowledge of what to do or how to obtain a patent on a product. Steven admits to having failed after several attempts, but he was determined to succeed. Following years of research and studying, he began to learn what was required to obtain a patent, and shortly after that, he gained the knowledge of marketing his product.
Steven has an in-depth understanding of the level of initiative it takes to have products viewed and prepared for the market. His record of accomplishment for creating useful products led him to continue moving forward with product development inventions, which led him to where he is today.
Steven was born in Newburgh, New York, where he attended and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy High School in June 1979. He worked in the New York Hudson Valley region, which included two years at the West Point Military Academy in West Point, New York.
Later, Steven relocated to Detroit, Michigan, to attend Wayne State Community College, and following a few semesters during the eighties, he enrolled in the US Military as an Army Medic and Airborne Paratrooper in 1989—stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, during his four-year term. While in North Carolina, Steven had two overseas tours: Honduras and Iraq. He fought in Operation Desert Storm (First Gulf War), and he was the recipient of eight medals, which included the Bronze Star medal with valor.
After returning from Iraq and exiting the military, he continued to pursue his career in the health field industry where he worked for several large companies, which included Bayer Pharmaceutical, Pfizer Corporation, and Merck Corporation, to name a few. During the time he spent working in the health field, he obtained a degree for Associate of Applied Science in Bioprocess Technology in 2004.
Steven’s tenure was over twenty years—the time he spent in the military medical field and his career in the health field before pursuing his dream in product development in 2016.
In January 2017, Steven launched his website www.batteryjustincase.com that sells the product Battery Just In Case, which is a brilliant product used to charge cell phones as well as other devices using solar and USB as the energy source. He currently has two utility patents and one patent pending. Steven also owns several trademarks.
Steven is completing a book regarding his experiences in the invention world. The book will teach and guide others who ventured out to become inventors.
Steven’s goal is to make the product inventions successful because they can have an impact on the lives of others. Simply put that only when we commit to something wholeheartedly with our every ability, there is always hope, and we can make it in life.
Steven married his best friend, Angela Smith, in 1994, and together, they are a proud blended family and equally devoted parents to their children.
