About this ebook

Stephen King's classic #1 New York Times bestselling and Bram Stoker Award–winning novel and the basis for the hit film directed by Rob Reiner and starring James Caan and Kathy Bates.

Paul Sheldon is a bestselling novelist who has finally met his self-proclaimed number-one fan. Her name is Annie Wilkes, and she is more than a rabid reader—she is Paul’s nurse, tending his shattered body after an automobile accident. But she is also furious that the author has killed off her favorite character in his latest book. Annie becomes his captor, keeping him prisoner in her isolated house.

Annie wants Paul to write a book that brings Misery back to life—just for her. She has a lot of ways to spur him on. One is a needle. Another is an axe. And if they don’t work, she can get even nastier.

I've never read a Stephen King book that I haven't loved. This one by far has to be my favorite. I can clearly visualize Kathy Bates as Annie. Yes loved the movie too. Second time reading and all I have to say is wow! Definitely A must read for those who haven't read it yet. Kept me on the edge of my seat the hole time. Perfect read for a dark and stormy night

I loved this novel it's really scary but really good and my favorite part is when Pol killed Annie and escaped. I didn't like how Annie killed the young cop but this novel is amazing. y'all should read it too.

Misery is a novel that never fails to keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Never have I felt such emotion while reading a book. Stephen King puts his readers in the book, his writing "so vivid" and flowing so freely you can feel what the characters feel. I've cried, screamed, gasped, and read this book so fast because it is a true page-turner. Favorite book I've ever read by far.
