About this ebook
In this electrifying thriller, Lt. Shane Scully finds himself accused of evidence tampering and caught in a web of corruption, betrayal, and illicit affairs.
Charged with felony misconduct in a high-profile solicitation of murder case, Lieutenant Shane Scully faces an impossible decision: quietly resign from his beloved job as an LAPD detective or face criminal prosecution. Choosing to protect the department's reputation and his own, Scully leaves, only to be shunned by his colleagues and abandoned by his wife, Alexa, the chief of detectives, who seeks a divorce after discovering his dalliance with a beautiful Hollywood actress. Even his son, Chooch, refuses to speak to him.
Desperate to make a living, Shane joins the Haven Park PD, a department known for hiring rejects and a hotbed of corruption. Under the tutelage of his new partner, Alonzo Bell, one of the dirtiest cops around, Shane navigates a world of violence and hyper-paranoia. Relentlessly harassed by an over-zealous FBI agent, Ophelia Love, Shane finds himself ensnared in a web far greater than he could have imagined. With his life on the line, Shane's only hope may lie with his estranged wife, but is she willing to help?
On the Grind is a gritty, suspenseful thriller from bestselling author Stephen J. Cannell that delves into the dark underbelly of Los Angeles law enforcement.
