I bought this book on a whim in a second hand bookshop in Scarborough. Simply thinking it something to while away some time on holiday. One day later I had read it from cover to cover finding it one of the most interesting books I have read in a long time. It challenges the standard view that man domesticated the animals and proposes that we and animals evolved in certain, sometimes symbiotic, relationships. Like prior writers who have taken man away form the centre of the universe, it allows clear thinking to see clear truths that were obscured by our tendency to focus on ma primary object of attention. Very well worth reading.
