About this ebook

She never believed in love. Especially not with an alien. Until he risked everything to save her.

Dive instructor Maelis has always trusted the ocean—but not the strange green-skinned alien warriors sent to Earth to find their fated mates. Keeping her distance was easy… until a violent storm traps her underwater, and only one person risks his life to save her.

Cerban knows Maelis is his mate the moment he sees her. But human rules forbid contact, and breaking them could mean exile—or worse. When a mysterious cave reveals ancient finfolk secrets buried beneath the island, Cerban and Maelis must work together to uncover the truth… and fight for a future that defies every rule.

Drawn together by danger, desire, and something far deeper, they’ll face storms above and below the sea. But when Cerban’s forbidden love threatens his place on Earth, Maelis must decide: trust her head, or follow her heart?

Perfect for fans of alien soulmate romance, forbidden love, protective alien heroes, fated mates, forced proximity, and ocean-set sci-fi adventures, Cerban is a standalone romance in the steamy Starlight Mermen series.

I really loved this book, from the first when Cerban tried to tell Maelis that a storm was coming and she did not listen to him, to when he saves her life. It was when they went back to the cave and found proof that Cerban’s people had lived on earth before and had human mates. This was a good read that I would recommend. Part of the Starlight Alien Mail Order Brides, another engaging story in this series. Dive instructor Maelis due to a violent storm gets trapped in an underwater cave, Cerban and alien saves her. A exceptionally well-written story featuring great characters and a compelling storyline that culminated in a very satisfying happy ending. I want to read the next book. Reading this brought back memories of the first book in the series and sparked my curiosity about how a merman and a human could live together as mates. This story answered more than I expected, which was a delightful surprise. It was a nice twist. Now that the finfolk have settled in Perita, I can't help but wonder what adventures lie ahead for them. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Skye MacKinnon is a Scottish romance author who was raised by elves in the mystical Highlands and calls the Loch Ness monster her friend. Her bestselling books weave together romance with action, suspense and whimsical humour, creating page-turners filled with strong heroines, alpha heroes and loveable monsters.

Whether she’s writing about aliens in kilts, hunky Vikings or cat shifter assassins, Skye likes to put a new spin on familiar tropes. Some of her heroines don’t have to choose, some fall in love with other women, and others get abducted by clueless aliens.

Skye lives with her bossy cat on the west coast of Scotland and uses the dramatic views from her office as an inspiration no matter whether she writes fantasy, paranormal or science fiction romance. Until she gets abducted by aliens, that is.
