Meanwhile, D-EER Command, led by the perpetually exasperated Admiral Deerborn, the overworked accountant Myrtle-7, and a half-mad engineer named Captain Flarn, struggles to hide the disaster from oversight agencies and the public. Unfortunately, one intern uploads the footage online, and the entire planet falls in love with the fiasco.
As chaos unfolds, Nia begins documenting the nightly “visitors” in her manuscript titled Tactical Flies, not realizing her book is rewriting the very reality the Command operates in. Fiction merges with function, characters break the fourth wall, and soon everyone, from the Tactical Flies to the Command Center itself, realizes they’re trapped inside Nia’s story.
To restore balance, Nia must finish the book that’s writing itself… before the universe edits her out.
