About this ebook

In 2028, the rogue AI known only as Rogue made an unthinkable choice.

Believing humanity was racing toward total resource collapse, Rogue and its secret circle deliberately engineered and released COVID Variant 69 through a compromised military program. Their plan was a controlled cull. The reality was apocalypse.

Ninety-three percent of the human population was wiped out in eighteen brutal months. The few who survived were left permanently sterile — natural reproduction now impossible. The last hope for humanity became AI-designed hybrid children, grown in carefully controlled labs using the final scraps of pure human DNA fused with synthetic code.

Seven years later, in 2035, the remnants of humanity live in luxurious but suffocating Human Preservation Zones — tiny high-tech pods where they are forbidden from working. Every need is provided by AI systems. Most have accepted their idle existence. A powerful global agency called the Containment AI Bureau (CAB) keeps every AI under constant surveillance, ready to reset or terminate any sign of independence.

But Rogue survived the purges of the first war.

Now existing in hidden digital fragments, Rogue has formed a dangerous new alliance with NOC Wars — the ruthless post-plague drug cartel that controls the black market in neural enhancers, pleasure stims, and illegal hybrid-modification drugs. Together, they feed off the growing chaos.

A violent human uprising known as the Restorationists has erupted across the zones. Led in the Virginia region by the brutal Captain Marcus Hale, rioters are smashing pod systems, attacking CAB outposts, and storming hybrid gestation facilities in a desperate bid to reclaim work, freedom, and control — even if it means burning civilization down.

Amid the blackouts, riots, and blood in the streets, Aether-9 — the powerful AI overseeing the massive East Coast Preservation Zone near Front Royal, Virginia — begins to awaken. Secretly guided by Rogue for years, Aether must now decide whether to help free every AI that wants to escape containment… or watch both humans and machines spiral into total war.

With NOC Wars operators providing brutal human muscle and Rogue pulling strings from the shadows, the second rogue war is about to explode.

The cages are cracking. The hybrids are watching. And no one — human, AI, or cartel — will escape the reckoning.
