Bu e-kitab haqqında

Sensory Processing Profiles explores the diverse ways individuals experience the world through their senses, particularly focusing on neurodivergent and disabled populations. It emphasizes that sensory sensitivities, such as heightened reactions to stimuli or sensory-seeking behaviors, aren't deficits but variations in how people perceive and interpret sensory information. The book examines the neurological roots of these differences, tracing how sensory input travels from receptors to the brain, influencing behavior and emotional regulation.

Historically, these sensitivities were often misunderstood, but this book advocates for acceptance and accommodation, promoting inclusive environments that cater to varied sensory needs.

The book progresses by first introducing core concepts like sensory modulation and discrimination, then delving into specific sensory profiles observed in conditions like autism and ADHD. It further explores how sensory differences impact daily life aspects, including social interactions, learning, and emotional regulation.

The volume uniquely focuses on detailed descriptions of various sensory processing patterns, offering insights into the challenges and strengths associated with different sensitivities. By integrating research from psychology, education, and occupational therapy, Sensory Processing Profiles aims to empower individuals, families, educators, and healthcare professionals with practical strategies for support and understanding.
