Now that Nissa is back on the same continent, werewolf Thomas Lazos will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and finally claim what is rightfully his in this sizzling paranormal romance. He turned his back on her once before but now Nissa has no one else to turn to and the readers can’t help but be burned by sizzling chemistry between Nissa and Thomas as they struggle past some issues that seem to be insurmountable. The sex scenes definitely scorch Miami and a whole lot more but trust and an ages old war stand between them as this fast paced, smooth flowing plot captivates readers with suspense and romance. Expectation builds lots of excitement throughout the story as the danger to Nissa escalates and unexpected surprises add quite a bit of spice with the well written scenes and details making it easy to picture each and every scene while the intriguing events draw the reader in and refuse to let go. A delightfully hot paranormal read with captivating characters and a pack of wolves that add some serious heat to this fascinating world and I can’t wait to read more Miami Scorchers. By the way the story can be read as a standalone as I haven’t read any of the others in this series yet.

WOW! Normally I wouldn't read the 4th book in series first (My OCD pretty much demands I read series in order - which is why Goodreads is a godsend), but when it was recommended to me and there was an author's note it could be read as a stand-alone, I took a chance. MAN am I glad I did! Loved this story! There were bits I am sure would have made more sense and characters I want to know more about that I hope to meet by going back to read the first 3! Thomas and Nissa are impossible not to love. Each of them trying too hard to protect each other and themselves. Based on the backstory provided, its easy to see how they ended up where they did. Thomas spent a century torturing himself with guilt and Nissa had no basis to understand how to have a real partner and real family bonds. I fell in love with both characters in what seemed like the first chapter. In fact I read the entire book in one sitting and I am going to be looking to add the rest of this series to my "To Be Read" list tonight! I am looking forward to going back to learn more about characters I met in this story and I hope there are more after this one because I have feeling 4 will not be enough.
