I finished A Rebel's Beacon this afternoon and find myself hoping that Sara Blackard is busy writing the next book in the series. This is a stand-alone clean romance, but it is so good that I'm very eager for the next one! The main characters in A Rebel's Beacon are both dealing with scars, just different kinds. There are some very tender scenes, some confrontational ones, some very tense and exciting ones, and some swoony kisses that are all extremely well written. I would definitely recommend this book to family and friends. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this wonderful romance.

If you love adventure, heroic rescues and hunky guys who are tender and sweet, then you will love this book about Bjorn Rebel who flies a helicopter he’s named, Annie. The tense moments during almost impossible rescues and the frightening moments when Sadie has to face her fears, will have you on the edge of your seat. Sadie was severely injured in an avalanche that killed her best friend when she was young. She is left with both physical and mental scars that leave her whimpering and cowering instead of being that Safety and Rescue person she wants to become. Sadie trains rescue dogs. Bjorn is an Army seasoned, rescue helicopter pilot. When these two experts team up to save lives, the adrenaline boils over and sparks start to fly. When a group of young teens go missing and the frantic father is a powerful man of one of them, Bjorn, Sadie and Rowdy the rescue dog have to fly into rugged Alaskan territory in the middle of a thunderstorm. Failure is not an option, but lightening is flashing way too close for comfort. There are also quiet tender moments of caring with Gunner, Bjorn’s brother, the medic, and Denali, Sadie’s understanding sister. Add in the excitement of the attraction of Bjorn toward Sadie with that bubbly feeling of beginning love plus the antics of Rowdy the wonderful wonder dog and you have a fantastic story. Warning, Sara Blackard has written another exciting adventure that will have you reading into the wee hours of the morning!
