Waypoints: My Scottish Journey

Sam's resilience and persistence is admirable. He epitomizes the dreamer who never gives up. His book takes you on his journey and struggles to make it as an actor and also a mountaineer. His hike along the West Highland Way resembles his journey as an aspiring actor. The climb was difficult but with perseverance he finally made it to the summit. I respect his vulnerability. I think his journey has helped him connect to his soul which, in my opinion, is true happiness. His book has inspired me to continue on with my passion even if I never get the break he did. It's really more about the love of what you do than the notoriety or fame. Sure, getting paid for it makes it a lot easier but if that's the main reason you're doing it, it's not a passion that connects you to your soul.

Awesome narrative! Sam Heughan definitely has a gift for story-telling, and his description of the West Highlands Way made me feel that I was right there, trekking along with him! Thank you Sam for writing such a transparent and honest tale of your life thus far, I hope others who read it realize that just because someone is in the spotlight doesn't mean that they aren't just like people who aren't in the spotlight. We all need to slow down, enjoy life in the moment, and remember to chase our dreams with tenacity and hope.
