Apie šią el. knygą

For Laura Principal, PI, and her partner Sonny, business is flourishing—until, at the home of a wealthy client, Laura leaves a cherished photograph in the hands of a Filipina maid. Within 24 hours the girl has vanished without a trace. Where has she gone? And why do her employers deny she ever existed? Attempting to find the girl—and the photograph—Laura confronts cruelty, kidnap and a body in an alley, and learns a few things about herself she could well have done without.

“Laura Principal is Britain’s coolest woman private eye...Well-crafted, well-written and well worth a read” —Val McDermid, Manchester Evening News

“[Spring] writes with intelligence and a real feel for a menacing atmosphere” —Marcel Berlins, The Times

Apie autorių

After her early life and university education in Canada, Michelle Spring moved to England, where she held posts as Professor of Sociology at Anglia Ruskin University and as Royal Literary Fellow at both Newnham College and Magdalene College, University of Cambridge. She published scholarly books (on reproductive technologies, politics and education) under the name Michelle Stanworth.

Michelle and her family were threatened by a dangerous stalker in the 1990s.That experience triggered her interest in crime writing. Every Breath You Take, the novel that introduces PI Laura Principal, is the first in a series of five set in the historic university city of Cambridge. It dives feet-first into the subject of stalking, as does the later London-based standalone titled The Night Lawyer.
