Now her adopted daughter is trapped on the wrong side of it.
Lady Gregory spent weeks risking her life and soul to create a magical doorway powerful enough to reach the underworld and rescue Lily from Hades. Every spell, every sacrifice, was meant to protect the people she loves.
It wasn’t enough.
In the dead of night, her nineteen-year-old adopted daughter Rose disobeys her and slips through the unfinished portal—vanishing into a realm where spirits, monsters, and ancient powers rule. The door collapses behind her, leaving Lady Gregory with no choice but to follow.
With Charles at her side, Lady Gregory races against time through hostile worlds and shifting magic to find Rose before the underworld claims her forever. But their dangerous journey awakens something far worse than the realm beyond the door: a secret from Lady Gregory’s past that resurfaces with devastating consequences.
As a ruthless new enemy closes in, Lady Gregory must decide how much she is willing to sacrifice—her freedom, her love, even her soul—to bring her daughter home.
Because every crossing has a cost…
…and some worlds never let you leave.
Ron Vitale is a fantasy and science fiction author. Influenced by the likes of Tolkien, Margaret Atwood, C. S. Lewis, and Philip Pullman, he has a Master’s degree in English Literature from Villanova University where he studied the works of Alice Walker and Margaret Atwood. For his thesis, he interpreted Walker’s and Atwood’s novels through a psychological Jungian approach by showing how the central female protagonists use storytelling as a means to heal themselves from trauma. He lives in a small town outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and keeps himself busy by writing his blog and on learning how to be a good father to his kids all while working on his next book.
