About this ebook

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The unmissable new mystery in the Thursday Murder Club series from bestselling author Richard Osman, now streaming on Netflix

Who's got time to think about murder when there's a wedding to plan?

It’s been a quiet year for the Thursday Murder Club. Joyce is busy with table plans and first dances. Elizabeth is grieving. Ron is dealing with family troubles, and Ibrahim is still providing therapy to his favorite criminal.

But when Elizabeth meets Nick, a wedding guest asking for her help, she finds the thrill of the chase is ignited once again. And when Nick disappears without a trace, his cagey business partner becomes the gang’s next stop. It seems the duo have something valuable—something worth killing for.

Joyce’s daughter, Joanna, jumps into the fray to help the gang as they seek answers: Has someone kidnapped Nick? And what’s this uncrackable code they keep hearing about? Plunged back into action once more, can the four friends solve the puzzle and a murder in time?

No way up to the same standard as prior books. Seems like the author kind of just phoned it in. Very formulate. Mystery really uninteresting.

Every next Thursday Murder Club book is better than the last. It's hard to imagine how Richard is going to top this one though. At this point, it's not even about the mystery. I almost don't even care who done it, just so long as my team, and all of the rascals they've met along the way (and most especially Bogdan) are all okay. This book puts that whole feeling into perfect perspective. In The Impossible Fortune, Osman gives you a mystery you probably won't solve, which is exactly what we all want, right? I mean, we could solve it, maybe, but not unless we were paying very close attention & got a little lucky as well. Ah, the perfect mystery book! We get that here, but by the time we figure it all out, we just don't give a damn. Just keep Ron & has family safe! Just make Elizabeth feel alive again. Just let Ibrahim know how loved he is. Just let Joyce get some already! Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad. 10/10 will recommend to bloody everyone!
