This book contains wonderful summaries of food culture from foraging flora to hunting animals: all from a historical perspective. It has wonderful tidbits of information on topics like how spices were originally drug related as natural means to healing and/or treating health issues. I just love this & have recommended it to my Herbalist, Hunting & Foraging friends on a social media site. I'm happy to say it has a chapter on GMO's in farming, as well.
