Scorching Earth

Cradled amongst rocky mountains, the city of Stones still hums with strong magic. Wes sends the one person who might uncover the truth about this anomaly: Ari, a girl born with the rare power to see—and rewrite—spells. But will this mission be too risky for a fifteen-year-old girl?

Determined to prove herself, Ari enters a city unlike any she’s ever seen. Its dark stone halls hide secrets carved deep into the mountain’s core—secrets far stranger and far deadlier than anything on the surface.

She won’t face them alone. Tyss is determined to help her, even as ghosts from his past rise up to haunt his every step. Meanwhile, Henbane’s own quest pulls her to the city of Stones too, and she may soon have to choose between her destiny and her friends.

Ancient magic is waking in the City of Stones—and it may demand a price none of them are ready to pay.
