About the Author
Randy Furguson is a former environmental engineer who left the private sector after fifteen years of writing regulatory impact assessments for projects he did not believe in. His short fiction has appeared in *Clarkesworld*, *Lightspeed*, and the *Year's Best Science Fiction* anthology series. *Biodomes After the World Burned* is his first novel.
He lives in Portland, Oregon, with his partner and a neurotic terrier named after the chemist who invented the lithium-ion battery. When not writing, he volunteers with a community watershed restoration project and maintains a small greenhouse where he grows tomatoes with about one-tenth the efficiency of his fictional hydroponic systems. He is at work on a second novel and a long-form essay about the relationship between infrastructure maintenance and moral philosophy, which he promises will be more interesting than it sounds.
