Hunger Unbound: Book One in the Daybridge Darkness Trilogy
About this ebook
Deep in the biting New England winter, Daybridge Homicide Detective Ethan Reeves is chasing a killer that leaves his victims empty—literally.
A BEAST SHACKLED IN SILVER
For three years, Ethan Reeves has guarded a monstrous secret: he is a werewolf, struggling to control the primal predator clawing beneath his skin with every rising moon. But when his partner, Detective Alice Chen, calls him to a gruesome crime scene in Riverside Park, Ethan's enhanced senses scream that this is no ordinary homicide. The victim—a prominent local figure—has been brutally torn apart, his face mutilated and specific internal organs surgically harvested. The most chilling clue? The wounds are packed with fresh cemetery soil.
AN INSATIABLE SUPERNATURAL APPETITE
As the body count rises, the horror hits close to home. The killer isn't human. It is an ancient, evolved ghoul—a corpse-eater that can shape-shift to pass as human, systematically hunting Daybridge's hidden supernatural citizens to consume their essence. From the blood-drained galleries of vampire lords to the secret sanctuaries of the werewolf packs, no one is safe. The creature is feeding to acquire power, and as the moon waxes, it locks its sights on the ultimate prize: Ethan himself.
THE MASTERMIND IN THE CATACOMBS
To stop the slaughter, Ethan must plunge into the forgotten 18th-century catacombs beneath downtown Daybridge. Guided by the witch Lila Darkmagic and his werewolf mentor Natalie Wolfhard, Ethan uncovers a terrifying truth. The ghoul is not hunting for food. It is harvesting components for Malcolm Christopher—a legendary, long-dead necromancer who has cheated the grave and now seeks to hollow out Ethan’s dual-natured body to serve as a permanent vessel for his own dark rebirth.
With the full moon rising and his control over the wolf rapidly fracturing, Ethan is running out of time. He must fully integrate his human mind with his wild lupine instincts to stop the ritual—or risk losing his humanity forever.
