I think I started this book seeking revelation, and finished it thinking the nastiness of girls was banal. While I believe it is important that we hear girls' stories in their own words, too much of the writing in this book was overwrought, and the "self-help" tone of the authors bookends for each section was a little sickly. Probably useful for a teenage girl undergoing these things, but far better for us to teach girls and women better ways to relate to one another.
