About this ebook

Cecelia Ransome doesn’t have time for love.

After an injury nearly destroyed her future, she's finally back where she belongs—starting for one of the best college soccer teams in the country and chasing her dream of making the national team. She's not about to let anyone know she's still haunted by the fear that one wrong step could take it all away.

A relationship?

Not on her radar.

Especially not with the gorgeous, socially awkward guy she met at a party under the absolute worst possible circumstances.

Solomon Barnes never meant to make such a terrible first impression. But when he's assigned as the student athletic trainer for Cecelia's team, avoiding her isn't an option.

The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore the chemistry between them.

Or the way Solomon seems to see straight through the fearless image everyone else believes.

For the first time since her injury, Cecelia finds herself lowering the walls she's built so carefully around her heart.

Falling in love was never part of Cecelia's game plan.

But as the biggest season of her life—and her shot at the national team—hangs in the balance, she has to decide if protecting her heart is worth losing the one person who's finally learned how to reach it.

Another enjoyable romance from Rachel Schurig. As ever the story works as a standalone or as part of the series. I love the way Rachel lets us get to know her characters and really explores their development. This book fits into the bigger story of the Ransomme family but personally I'd recommend that if you havent read any you start with a different one. This is still a well written, story but I have preferred others in the series - hence 4* not 5

This story was exciting to read. Cecelia has always lived a large, loud life. Her experiences have shaped her to be defensive of those whom she loves. Enter Solomon. At first, there is a misconception of who Solomon is in Cece's eyes. Once their worlds intersect, the balance of what each of them needs reconciles to an interesting journey of love, support, and acceptance. Cece and Solomon show their friends and family that love doesn't always look like what one expects. This is a fantastic read from Rachel Schurig and extends the adventures of the Ransome Family. You won't be disappointed!

It was so good to have Rachel Schurig back and writing again, and even better to find myself returning to the Ransome world after such a long time. There was something instantly comforting about being back amongst this family, and this book gave me everything I had hoped for: romance, tension, familiar faces, plenty of emotion and that warm, feel-good quality that makes this series so enjoyable.
