From Dorothy's ruby slippers to the Maltese Falcon, the book explores the intriguing stories behind iconic film and television objects, tracing their journey from initial design to their ultimate fate. These props are more than just set dressing; they are tangible links to our cinematic memory, reflecting the artistic vision of filmmakers and the cultural context of the films themselves. The book delves into the creation, disappearance, and occasional resurfacing of props in high-stakes auctions, revealing the ingenuity and craftsmanship involved in their design.
