The Dark Rom-Com: Love with a Bite

Two years ago, food critic Vivienne Hart wrote a review that closed a restaurant and ruined a chef. She called his signature dish “a crime scene with a wine pairing.” Now she’s a ghost at a dying newspaper, surviving on adjectives and regret.

Then an invitation arrives. An exclusive underground supper club. No sign. No press. Guests sign a waiver before they even get the address. The host in the dark dress whispers, “The theme is you.”

The chef is Callum Black. The man she destroyed. And he’s back, serving a seven-course tasting menu where each dish is not food—it’s a question. Memory. Regret. Fear. Shame. Desire. Betrayal. Truth.

Each bite forces Viv to confront the past she’s been running from. But the final course, forgiveness, may be the hardest to swallow. Because the real secret isn’t the review—it’s the silver lighter she left behind that night. The one Callum’s brother used to burn down his own restaurant. And the debt that still has a name: Varrick.

As the heat between them ignites, Viv and Callum must stop being enemies and start being ingredients in a story neither of them expected. But can a love built on revenge and pain ever taste sweet?

The Dark Rom-Com: Love with a Bite is a genre-blending dark romantic comedy that combines the sharp banter of a rom-com with the emotional stakes of a dark romance. Perfect for readers who like their love stories with teeth.
