About this ebook

Some myths are best left unread

The Necronomicon isn't real — a book invented by H.P. Lovecraft, nothing more. That's what Elisa Hill believes, right up until a dying billionaire book collector summons her to a private island and asks her to track it down.

The job comes with strings. Sebastian Clarke already hired someone else first: Lucas Davalos, Elisa's former partner, a mercenary myth hunter who vanished off the grid weeks ago while running from the Order. Whatever Elisa thinks of Lucas, she owes him her life, and if Clarke's people can't find him, someone far less forgiving will. So she turns down the money and goes looking anyway — for Lucas, and for a book that shouldn't exist.

She's not alone. Asami, the centuries-old kitsune who's indebted to Elisa, isn't about to sit this one out. And Elisa's old mentor Max has his own reasons to worry — her job at Burroughs University is already hanging by a thread, and chasing myths across the globe isn't going to help her case with the faculty board.

The trail runs from a hijacked freighter in the South China Sea to cult hideouts and forgotten archives, past a Lovecraft scholar who insists the legend is more literal than anyone wants to admit. Because the Necronomicon is real — bound in something far worse than leather, and carrying a price that's already been paid in blood by everyone who's touched it. And Sebastian Clarke wants it far more badly than a wealthy collector should.

Some legacies are worth killing for. Some are worth becoming a monster for. Elisa Hill is about to learn there's no difference between the two — and that the cost of this hunt might be more than she or Asami can survive.

If you like globe-trotting pulp adventure, mythology that bites back, and heroines who punch first and ask questions never, dive into Percival Constantine's third Myth Hunter adventure!
