God has given you a life, and you’re the only one who can decide how to write it. Frederick Percy is the Earl of Astley, Lord of Havensbrooke. Unfortunately the estate has seen much better days, and now he has no choice but to marry for money. Circumstances force him to take the lovely red-haired Gracelynn Ferguson as his bride. He’d never have chosen Grace, but God knew what he’d needed. The author has done a fabulous job of giving us characters that will not soon be forgotten. Grace is just such a character - one that causes you to shake your head and laugh, wondering what she will get into next. Ready or not, she was now the Countess of Havensbrooke, but would the estate survive Gracelynn? Oh my gosh, I absolutely love this book and wish there were more than 5 stars to be given. This copy was received through Barbour Publishing and NetGalley. These impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.

The Mistletoe Countess is wonderfully romantic and marvelously entertaining, and I simply cannot put into words how much I adored it. This purely delightful romantic comedy with a touch of mystery is one of the best Christian fiction books I have ever read! Grace is an utterly charming, spunky, and quirky heroine who is bookish in nature and so easy to love. Frederick is a swoon-worthy reformed rogue turned protective and adoring husband. What began as an impromptu arranged marriage turns into a love match, and as the newlyweds quickly and sweetly fall in love, there is plenty of spice in this book to make you swoon. Their romance is adorable and clean, and it assures us that this hero and heroine love each other quite ardently and are ready to tackle the world together. They face danger as they solve the mystery surrounding Frederick’s family and his unplanned inheritance of the title. Grace is sure that there is something suspicious going on, and when attempts on his life become attempts to harm his new bride as well, Frederick joins the case. Through their journey, Grace and Frederick learn much about marriage, redemption, and how God’s plan is always the best plan. This book does take place at Christmastime, but I firmly believe that this story can be cherished and enjoyed at any time of year. Needless to say, I highly recommend this book! This story has it all---a charming and spunky heroine, an endearing and passionate hero, breathtaking romance, laugh out loud moments, suspenseful adventure, deep spiritual truths, and a dash of Christmas joy. Do not miss it! I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes, but my thoughts are my own. I really did love it!

Fun, feisty American Gracelynn Ferguson finds herself the bride of Lord Frederick Percy, an Englishman with a trunk load of personal baggage. If anyone can make a go of this marriage of convenience, it is the ever-thoughtful Grace. Pepper Basham is an author of many talents and writes well in several genres. In The Mistletoe Countess, she has given the reader a swoony, romantic historical mixed with a Sherlock Holmes-esque mystery. I enjoy a romance in which the couple gets together well before the last page and spends time working out their relationship together. I also enjoy a good mystery with a dislikable villain. I got both in this delightful book. If you have enjoyed Pepper Basham before, you will undoubtedly love this book. If Basham is a new to you author, this is a great place to start. I was given a copy of this book by the author. All opinions stated are my own.
