The book started out as a typical Enid Blyton style cute kids in a small town to spend Christmas holidays with their grandparents while stumbling across a mystery type story. However, whereas Enid Blyton books are a pleasure to read -- this particular book started getting tiring to read after the first few pages. That feeling of being captivated by a great mystery never came, and finishing the book almost started feeling like a chore. My honest feedback to the author is that you need to make your book more interesting -- wishing you all the best for your next set of books.
