This book was challenging for me because it has many surprising twists and turns, almost like in a novel as it gets you thinking about what you may have missed, and how to correct what one has done wrong as one progressed through the career ladder in the workplace. I loved the chapter ‘Who Are You?’ especially, the discussion of ‘Your Chameleon Skin’. It was a wonderful eye-opener on people management for me. The chapter on ‘Converting Respectable Competition To Allies’ was equally very educating for me. This book –The Player by Pastor John is particularly valuable for young graduates entering the workforce. They will learn to start life on the correct step. This way, they will not be easily discouraged, if their expectations are not met as quickly as they wish. They learn a lot about how to manage life situations from here. It incorporates many career advancement strategies that have to do with managing interactions with people. It is very easy to read, and I completed it in no time.
