When cruising on a boat, there are many situations you can find yourself in, from being moored in a marina to crossing an ocean, sometimes weeks away from land and, of course, any medical help. This can be very challenging and requires a great deal of preparation and self-sufficiency. This is the first aid handbook that you need onboard. Written by medical professionals and experienced sailors, the book provides you with straightforward and uniquely visual guidance on what can be managed on your boat and what you should do, and when it's time to seek advice or even to arrange an emergency evacuation.

Packed with vital information for all skippers, this first aid handbook covers a range of different medical conditions, illnesses and accidents, any symptoms to look out for and appropriate treatment at sea, as well as the prevention of illnesses and accidents in the first place. Suitable for both sail and power, there are invaluable suggestions on medical equipment for cruisers and recommendations on communication equipment needed in an emergency medical situation.
