About this ebook

Still angry over the death of the woman he loved, rancher Marshall Boyer wants nothing to do with women or love. But when the mysterious Emma drops into his life—barefoot, broke, and running scared—he can’t let her go.

Artist Emmaline Katz has a dangerous secret. After escaping a ruthless criminal who exploited her for years, her quest for freedom crashes to a halt in rural Montana. Out of money and options, she finds an unlikely haven with a handsome cowboy. But no matter how much she wants to believe his offer of protection, he doesn’t know the truth about her, her secret, or the man who will stop at nothing to get her back.

Time is running out. A cold-blooded killer has come to town, and Emma isn’t the only target.

4.5⭐ Devil's Way Out was a great read. That really drew me in, thanks to extremely likable characters, and a storyline that was different and interesting. Not to mention, engaging, suspenseful, intriguing, and enjoyable to read. And even though it was hard to get into due to the fact it's quite slow to start, and it takes a while for the story to build, I loved it and I'm so glad I stuck with it, as it really surprised me, and I would certainly recommend it to others. **I was kindly provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

Loved this book!!! This is a quickly moving romantic suspense that I found myself completely engrossed in and turning pages just as quickly as possible. The author has crafted a tightly woven romantic suspense that fans of the genre will love. However, more than that, she has taken a familiar trope and twisted it into something unique and thoroughly entertaining. The characters were likeable and with enough depth to make them interesting. I found myself hoping for them to get their HEA ending. This is a new author to me, but I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.

Devil’s Way Out by Nika Dixon I loved, loved, LOVED this book. It had so much to offer! There was a woman on the run, her mysterious past, her drawing skill, men and animals that seemed taken with her, an evil man chasing her and another man that might be her safe place to land. I loved Emmaline, the woman on the run...everything about her resonated with me. I was so hoping she would find a happy ending after so much time in a horrible situation. She was a very special person. I loved the animals that fell for her and would do literally anything to keep her safe. The Boyer brothers and their father – stalwart and true blue through and through. I would love to hear more about Sheriff Danny Boyer and also about the men that are in his department...Sam and Bailey might need stories of their own along with Danny. Evil Alan so deserved to be thwarted and I couldn’t wait to see how it would happen...and I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would love to read more by this author – first book I have read by her but it won’t be the last. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

About the author

Jugging her zany schedule like a cat herding guru, Nika Dixon spends half her time at the hockey rink, the other half trying to remember where she put her tea. Nika lives in Ontario with her family, and dreams of converting her office into a library so she can spend her days trapped between her two addictions—romantic suspense and sci-fi. When she isn’t overrun by the plot bunnies, Nika works as project manager and graphic designer. Her loves include road trips, cheesy action movies, summers on Georgian Bay, and cheesecake (although not necessarily in that order).
