About this ebook

A funny rhyming picture book for children who love silly adventures, big ideas, and stories made for reading aloud.

Ellis is absolutely certain of one thing: the moon is made of lemon cake.

The adults say this is nonsense. They insist the moon is made of rock and dust and other deeply disappointing things. But Ellis knows better. The moon is round, pale, delicious-looking, and hanging right there in the sky. Obviously, someone should go and taste it.

So Ellis puts on a napkin, grabs a silver spoon, straps a metal colander to his head, and builds the most ridiculous garden tower ever attempted. There’s a trampoline, some chairs, a dustbin, a wheelbarrow, a broken trolley car, and a very worried greyhound called Jenson, who thinks the whole thing is a terrible idea.

Ellis ignores him.

Then he jumps.

And somehow… he goes.

The Moon Is Made of Lemon Cake is a funny illustrated children’s book in rhyme about curiosity, imagination, determination, and being spectacularly wrong. With playful rhyming text, comic build-up, and a brilliantly messy moon-tasting disaster, this read-aloud picture book is perfect for children who enjoy funny bedtime stories, silly space adventures, and characters who take their ideas much too seriously.

Ideal for fans of humorous rhyming picture books, imaginative bedtime stories, funny books about the moon, and children’s stories with a big ridiculous premise.
