Smiley meets The Sandlot in this animal friendship story about a boy named Mikey who wants nothing more than to be a good baseball player, and Scout, the stray Border Collie mix who will help make his dreams come true. Perfect for fans of M. C. Ross and Katherine Applegate.
Mikey Donahue isn’t having an easy time in Seattle. Ever since he moved there, he’s felt like a benchwarmer in life, and he’s convinced his baseball dreams are on hold forever when he joins the struggling Salmon Bay Sluggers . . .

Now, the Sluggers have a new mascot that helps boost the team’s morale and Mikey’s confidence. But will Scout be enough to help the team turn things around and win?
