About this ebook
NOW AN AMAZON ORIGINAL SERIES ON PRIME VIDEO STARRING ROBIN WRIGHT AND OLIVIA COOKE!
She’s selfish. She’s conniving. She’s a liar.
She’s coming to dinner.
Meet THE GIRLFRIEND.
Laura has it all. A successful career, a long marriage to a rich husband, and a twenty-three-year-old son, Daniel, who is kind, handsome, and talented. Then Daniel meets Cherry. Cherry is young, beautiful, and smart but hasn’t led Laura’s golden life. And she wants it.
When tragedy strikes, a decision is made and a lie is told. A lie so terrible it changes their lives forever…
The Girlfriend is a taut and wickedly twisted debut psychological thriller—a novel of subtle sabotage, retaliation, jealousy and fear, which pivots on an unforgivable lie, and examines the mother–son–daughter-in-law relationship in a chilling new light.

I don't usually do reviews but this book is a special case. The main characters are really unlikable, it takes way too long before the plot picks up steam and the end is a bit of a let down. Save your money and skip this one.

I received an advance copy of the first 100 pages of this book from the publisher and I flew right thru it! Laura is eager to meet her Son Daniel's new love interest, Cherry. But after spending a short holiday with her she starts to realize there may be more to Cherry than meets the eye. Laura starts to feel like Cherry is competing with her for Daniel's love and attention. The author does a great job of character development and really piques the readers interest in their lives - is Cherry as bad as she seems? What is she hiding? Will Daniel believe the information? What will happen next? I can't wait to read the rest to find out! Definitely putting this book on my "must-read" list.
