the first one has an ok plot and the setting or set if you will had amazing potential they set up this wonderful location that would allow for so much diversity and a more intimate and dynamic story telling and then they just didn't. the second is more of a murder mystery with real lazy pay off to what 90% of what the book was about. all in all they were ok if your a fan of the aliens universe then I would recommend reading it.
