About this ebook

The phone messages waiting for Henry Pierce clearly aren't for him: "Where is Lilly? This is her number. It's on the site." Pierce has just moved into a new apartment, and he's been "chasing the dime"--doing all it takes so his company comes out first with a scientific breakthrough worth millions. But he can't get the messages for Lilly out of his head. As Pierce tries to help a woman he has never met, he steps into a world of escorts, websites, sex, and secret passions. A world where his success and expertise mean nothing...and where he becomes the chief suspect in a murder case, trapped in the fight of his life.

First off...I have no clue what the gripe is with all these people hating this book. Ok, in total fairness...Henry Pierce is a moron! Let's get that out of the way. His decisions all throughout the book are just plain stupid. This guy has a doctorate from Stanford and still this stupid. I understand more of it comes out as to his intentions through the book, but come on now! Thriving business and a stellar future, all being gambled away for sheer curiosity. At least majority curiosity. Buuuuut...the story is very intelligently composed. It was a surprise hit for me. Coming from the neutered City of Bones, this one was a hit! Great action, great reveals, great antagonists, great tech speak, and a good (not great) ending. This one I really enjoyed. Don't sleep on this and don't base your TBR on reviews, this one is addicting and fun. Horton Hears a Winner! 4.5/5🎧.
